USA -> MEXICO -> and MEXICO -> USA

Many people would like to know and understand how to ship cargo, whether personal or business, from the United States to Mexico. In this article we explain a little about this and we took the liberty to offer both in English and in Spanish. 

Shipments from the USA to Mexico:

• The American driver delivers the cargo to the recipient in Laredo, TX. This is usually a trucking company yard or facility, a transshipment/docking facility, led by a customs broker. The cargo is then transferred (if not via trailer service) from the American carrier's trailer to the Mexican carrier's trailer, either via the dock or directly from one truck to another.
• The local driver transports the Mexican trailer to the customs broker's yard. The customs paperwork is finalized and approved, then the trailer is ready to cross the border. The transfer carrier takes the trailer to the Mexican carrier's yard in Nuevo Laredo.
• Once the trailer arrives at the Mexican carrier's yard in Nuevo Laredo, it is shipped to the final destination (usually within 24 hours).

Shipments from Mexico to the USA:

• The Mexican trucking company delivers the loads to its yard in Nuevo Laredo or designated Border and checks in with the Mexican customs agent to deliver all the documentation. Once the customs formalities are completed, the freight forwarder contacts the Mexican carrier to send a courier to pick up the "DODA" for the crossing.
• The designated Mexican company transports the trailer (usually within 24 hours) to the shipping destination in Laredo. The customs agent sets up an American driver to pick it up when the trailer crosses into Laredo Texas.
• The driver from the USA arrives. The cargo is placed on the trailer from the USA or, failing that, it is hooked up directly by a truck from the USA. Once the hooking is completed, the driver leaves Laredo and heads to his final destination in the USA.

Documents required for customs:

• Proforma Invoice: proof of sale or invoice showing the country of origin and the EIN number of the business based in the USA. Associated with the purchase or sale of the product.
• DODA - Operation Document for Customs Clearance, is generated through the Mexican Customs portal or through the web service of the designated customs agent, it includes a QRC (Quick Response Code) linked to a URL that lists all related requests.

Envíos de USA a México

•  El conductor estadounidense entrega la carga al destinatario en Laredo, TX. Por lo general, se trata de un patio o predio de una empresa de transporte vía terrestre, una instalación de transbordo / atraque, liderada por un agente de aduanas. Luego, la carga se transfiere (si no a través del servicio de remolque) desde el remolque del transportista estadounidense al remolque del transportista mexicano, ya sea a través del muelle o directamente de un camión a otro.

 

• El chofer local transporta el tráiler mexicano al patio del agente de aduanas. El papeleo de la aduana se finaliza y aprueba, luego el remolque está listo para cruzar la frontera. El transportista de transferencia lleva el remolque al patio del transportista mexicano en Nuevo Laredo.

 

 Una vez que el remolque llega al patio del transportista mexicano en Nuevo Laredo, se envía al destino final (generalmente dentro de las 24 horas).

Envíos de México a USA

• La empresa de camiones mexicana entrega las cargas a su patio en Nuevo Laredo o Frontera designada y se registra con el agente de aduanas mexicano para entregar toda la documentación. Una vez finalizados los trámites de aduana, el agente de carga se comunica con el transportista mexicano para enviar un mensajero a recoger el “DODA” para el cruce.

• La empresa mexicana designada transporta el remolque (generalmente dentro de las 24 horas) al destino de envío en Laredo. El agente de aduanas establece un conductor estadounidense para que lo recoja cuando el remolque cruza a Laredo Texas.

 

Llega el conductor de USA. La carga se coloca en el remolque de USA o en su defecto es enganchada directamente por un camión de USA, unas vez finalizado el enganche el conductor deja Laredo y se dirige a su destino final en USA.

 

Documentos necesarios para aduanas

 

• Factura Proforma: comprobante de venta o factura que muestra el país de origen y el número EIN del negocio con sede en USA. Asociado con la compra o venta del producto.

• DODA - Documento de Operación para Despacho Aduanero, se genera a través del portal de Aduanas de México o mediante el servicio web del agente de aduanas designado, incluye un QRC(Código de respuesta rápida) vinculado a una URL que enumera todos los pedimentos relacionados.
